Bookopoly
Last week Mrs Williams made a board game for a reading activity. I have finished two books so far and one of them was called Geronimo Stilton ( cavemice ) the stone of fire. The book was about...
The stone of fire got stolen by the new mouse city's worst enemy, a cat. So Geronimo Stilton had to find the cat and get the stone of fire back to new mouse city's museum. Geronimo had to travel to the island where the cats were and he had to somehow try to steal it. But one of the cats army trapped Geronimo in a box and took him to the king (of the cats) to have him for lunch. But one of Geronimo's friends came to the rescue and tricked the cats and he also stole the stone of fire.
The book was alright it wasn't the best but I enjoyed reading it.
I would rate it 7-10
Tom Gates A Tiny Bit Lucky
Bookopoly
Last week we started a reading game called Bookopoly. Our class let out a deafening cheer and we all took turns rolling the dice.
The book I am reading is by. L. Pichon, A Tiny Bit Lucky Narrated by Tom Gates. It had some beguiling jokes in it and I had to refrain myself from chuckling at silent reading time.
The book I am reading is by. L. Pichon, A Tiny Bit Lucky Narrated by Tom Gates. It had some beguiling jokes in it and I had to refrain myself from chuckling at silent reading time.
It's about this little boy, Tom, who was on his way to the audition for the Band Battle competition He was trying to lead his band, The Dogzombies, to Victory. But he had a Mum bugging him for new 'sensible' shoes, he had his Oh-So-Annoying Sister (Delia), he had June's cat scuttling around and Parents stopping him to watch his favourite TV show, The Crazy Fruit Bunch. There was also a School Inspector and he had caught Tom doodling with string. But, the School Inspector was also a Judge in the Band Battle. In the end, they didn't get to compete but it was still quite an experience for 12 year old children.
I think the Author has made the story quite detailed and fairly simple enough to understand. He also put enough diagrams and Illustration in the story. The Author ended it with Joe making his Mum proud by completing his Reading diary (But tom signs it). It was a good story and it had a few lessons about Luck.

Drama scenes
Today in drama we had to rewind into a scene, freeze frame and then say what our thought was. Check out out thoughts attached to our picture.
Popping popcorn
Today we experienced the delights of making popcorn it was really fun and delicious the best part of making it was popping it on the element. Popcorn was really nice and fun making we mixed it with butter and oil.
Foaming yeast
Today we learnt that yeast is a rising agent. We put hydrogen peroxide and detergent into a coke zero bottle and added some food colouring. Then we added yeast and felt the bottle get warmer. The yeast started to bubble up. When we shock the bottle it foamed up quickly. We decided to add extra hydrogen peroxide to see what would happen. It made the green colour turn white.

The popcorn blast
We started off with 537 popcorn kernels. 60 popcorn kernels didn't pop on the oil. We turned the element on medium heat and added our kernels in. We also added some oil and watched patiently as our kernels popped. It took about 5 minutes for it to start popping though.
We learnt that inside the hull of the kernel, there is some starch and a droplet of water. Nevertheless, we carried on with our procedure. The pot started vibrating, indicating that the popping was off to a good start. We moved the pot around eagerly waiting for all of the kernels to pop. After around 2-3 minutes, we turned off the heat and took the pot off the element. It was served on some paper towels. It was fun doing this with Finn, Mya, Harikoa and Tyler.

CATS
The Cats show was packed with a lot of people, there were a few schools and teachers. A few students from Sacred Heart watched it too. As the Show started the lights dimmed. Cats came jumping and leaping everywhere. The orchestra started with a loud boom. Many people were surprised, their music was magnificent and very lively. They were singing so beautifully and they didn't seem nervous. They were confident and had a lot spirit.
Everywhere people were loud clapping and cheering for them. It was a special moment for everyone who was watching. Then the Jellicle Song was sung and it was very loud and clear. During the song different kinds of cats were singing deeply and clearly. The glamour cats came their costumes was very diva like, it made people have butterflies in their stomachs.
Then Grizzabella walked through the stage. She looked very lonely, her voice was the most beautiful voice in the whole cast. She bragged about how she was used to be beautiful, but many cats didn't believe her. Judging by the tone of her voice, I believed her. Everytime she had a part to sing her expression felt lonelier. All because she was getting very old and wrinkly. Everyone crowded around Grizzebella, she felt so glad to have people like her. But she was too old and she died. In the ending all the cats that performed walked in a line and bowed to the audience. Everyone clapped and clapped until the lights came back.
I enjoyed every part and every song they sang, it was a such a great performance.
Cats
Since it was a musical, there were tons of singing. It was a remarkable play, and I didn't imagine high school students performing a hard play. It looks like the students practised a lot of gymnastics and they obviously put a lot of hard work in to this theatre. They probably practised so much, they weren't afraid of anything going wrong. The cats were energetic and there were a few surprising notes in the composed music. It made some people smile and flinch.
I would thank the kind people who gave us these tickets a million times over. There were some cats that sang like people in an opera. They hit the high pitch notes beautifully. They proved that the saying 'practice makes perfect' is right. The spotlights were at people who are doing solos. They did a few tricks. Overall, the musical theatre was fantastic and breathtaking.

Drama lesson

I was so thrilled my heart was pounding so fast I couldn't control it, it was drama and we were already inside the hall waiting for them. When I see both of them I knew the very minute they were great teachers. The first topic was about learning more about my classmates than what we already know about them, it was more like musical chairs but without the music, our class each got fruit names like apple, strawberry, blueberry or banana, when our fruit names were called out we had to find another chair that wasn't the chair we were sitting on before. After the game we learnt how to breathe quietly to calm our hearts when we're scared, worried, shocked or even humiliated, it wasn't that hard to do but you needed to be very cooperative and silent to ease your pressure. When we all got the hang of it we all did a play about a cavemen being closely captured by a saber-toothed tiger/bear. Unfortunately some were't able to perform it in front of the class like me and Phoebe, but at least we could still do it next week with the others. I had a fantastic and awesome time there I didn't even feel worried about attending there anymore

Dance alarm
We follow the instructions from the interactive white board and dance to various songs.
I think everyone in the class enjoys the fitness from Jump Jam each day we try to do our best at it.
Some people would be stoping from embarrassment and some would be rocking it. As we continue our Jump Jam we hope to get better at the songs, memorise the moves and improve our fitness.
Everyone seems to be enjoying it, though some may think its troublesome. But some day they will think that it's fun.

The icy cave
Adventure Time
I was walking, I saw an ice cave. I went into the ice cave it was so cold it felt like I had no breath. While I was climbing down the ice wall it was slippery. I nearly slipped off the ice wall. I stepped into the snow. When I stepped in it I saw a crystal. I used my pickaxe and I got the crystal out of the ground. I could taste the cold air while I was climbing up the ice wall the wall felt like it was about to shake. I wondered if I would get out before started to shake.

A studying moment
My feelings as I entered the ice glacier were tired and normal. When I was on the ground, I saw two huge walls of ice.
There was some snow, some icicles and I could see a streak of sunlight beaming down.
I took a bit of a walk around while looking and studying the ice walls and how thin it was.
The walls of ice had little puddles of very cold water. WOW!
Once I had finished studying the ice, I grabbed my hooks and climbed up, any dry ice could send me falling forty feet.
My hooks were hitting the ice hard. My gloves making sure the ice was cold and thick and I was kicking into the ice hard.
Once I had made it back to the top my friend pulled me up.
The helicopter was waiting for us up top. My friend and I got on board and we flew back to base.
We were safe!
FROZEN
As I was climbing up the frozen stiff ice wall, my frozen feet were so cold I felt like I was going to fall, but I didn't. I kept being brave and slowly put each foot in the snow. My hands were tired from holding the pickaxe and banging it on the stiff wall of ice.
I kept moving slowly and steadily toward the ground, putting each feet on snow. Finally I was on the ground I was amazed how dark it was. I took out my torch and started looking around the underground cave. Suddenly one thing caught my eye I saw the most beautiful thing, it was a shining blue crystal.
I was thinking to myself, has anyone been down here before? When I took out the beautiful crystal the ground suddenly moved like there was a giant coming. I ran so fast like a cheetah I fell down on the ground and hit my head on a stone. The side of my head started bleeding. My vision got very blurry but I had hope that this terrifying moment would end.
Later on the shake stopped and the bleeding on the side of my head stopped my vision was not blurry anymore. I felt very thankful and climbed up the big stiff ice wall to safety.
